Everything has a time
God sets up time for everything. The Bible says that there is a season for every activity under heaven. Yes, there is a time to be born and a time to die. Our sister Betty Dashner was born in 1943 and moved to heaven this year. During this short period of time, there was a time when she had joy of having a son after a son after a son. Now they are all fathers of 4 children, 3 children, and 2 children. There was a time when Betty was a part of the building project of our church and now is the time when she praises our God in spirit in this building. There was a time when she was a full time mother and raised the three boys with wisdom and love. Then there was also the time when she studied more and worked as project manager in many companies before her retirement. There was a time when she picked berries from a tree and made a pie to share with her friends families and there was a time when she fought against her cancer through prayer with her friends and families. There was a time when Betty remembered all the wonderful memories, anticipating her last moment. Now is the time when we remember her, hoping to see her again in heaven. There was a time for her to listen to all the troubles and issues from the sons and from the friends of the sons, and now is the time when we all listen stories after stories that tell how wonderful person she was. There was a time when she was a loving mother of many people, not only of her own children but also of many other young ones, now is the time when she discovers the joy of being a daughter of our God, the Creator. There was a time when Betty brought her three boys and friends to Santa Cruz beach, now is the time when the heavenly father brings her to her eternal home. There was a time when she accepted the mistakes and troubles that the boys made with smile and understanding without punishments. Now is the time when God accepts Betty with smile and love without judgments.
Now is the time to mourn for our loss. There will be a time for all of us to enjoy the reunion of our beloved ones. Now is the time when we feel our sorrow. There will be a time, though, for all of us to rejoice in front of our God. Now is the time when we all have to hold on to the promise of our Lord. There will be a time when we all see the promises to be fulfilled. The Bible says that there is a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. Can you imagine for all of us to dancing someday with Betty? I know that Betty was a good dancer. We better prepare for the heavenly dance! With that hope, brothers and sisters, let us hold each other’s hands and let us pray!
