Catch Fire Day 8

We were created by God. When we were created, we were lifeless earthen mummies. On receiving God’s breath, however, we became a living being as the Bible says, “The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed

into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7).

When we are far away from God spiritually, when we sin against God, we lose this breath and we become lifeless again. Then, like the doubting Thomas, we have to see and touch the evidences of the divine with our senses. We live in doubts and fear. We do not have peace in us.

However, when the Holy Spirit, the spirit of God, comes to us, we become living beings again. We can clearly see and confess that Jesus is the Lord and the son of the living God. We can have peace in our lives. We can be the witnesses of our Creator, Savior, and the Spirit.

Our relationships with others become living relationships with joy and happiness. Our work places become mission fields. Our homes become heavens. O, Lord, send your Spirit to all our churches in our conference, in our country, and all over the world!
