Psalm 129

Psalm 129

When we attack the helpless, we become helpless!

When God created the world, God put some principles of universe in the relationship of pieces. One of the principles is this: When we attack the helpless, we become helpless! The Bible is full of stories to confirm that principle. Egyptian Pharaoh tried to kill all the male babies but his army was thrown into the Nile River. King Herod tried to kill the new born king but Jesus conquered the power of death! The psalmist confirms the same principle in poetic form.

“Often have they attacked me from my youth”—let Israel now say—“often have they attacked me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me. The plowers plowed on my back; they made their furrows long.”

We keep confirming that the Lord is righteous and the wicked will be blown away!

Even though we have difficult times now, we keep our faith in God and move on with faith. We know already the conclusion of our faith journey: victory in Jesus!

“The Lord is righteous; he has cut the cords of the wicked. May all who hate Zion be put to shame and turned backward. Let them be like the grass on the housetops that withers before it grows up, with which reapers do not fill their hands or binders of sheaves their arms, while those who pass by do not say, ‘The blessing of the Lord be upon you! We bless you in the name of the Lord!’”
