My Mother

My Mother

My mother has lived through Japanese regime,

Korean War, and the Great Depression

Still she keeps her smile and her peace in her mind

She has wrinkles and spots here and there

She is weak and falling now and then

She forgets things and loses things

She cannot produce anything tangible now

but still she gives spiritual fruits to all the people she meets!

What is more grandiose? I wonder!

All my fellow pilgrims, I pray,

to be great mountains and living rivers in their golden aging times!
