When a child is born

I would not ask, “Are you going to be good?”

I am just welcoming the baby as a gift of God.

I am not going to say, “I am not going to be ready to be a parent!”

I am just delighted that the baby is being born.

When a child is born

I am not going to ask the race, sexual orientation, future career, or even religion of the child

I am just happy that I have a baby, a child of God
